Practical Application Combat Training - Mixed Martial Arts

The PACT system is a well rounded MMA program that includes but is not limited to Kickboxing, Jiu-Jitsu (Grappling), Self-Defense, Weapons, and Fitness training. Over many years of training in numerous disciplines and real life application our PACT system has evolved. We provide an avenue for an individual to become a true Mixed Martial Artist in safe and controlled environment.

Kickboxing

Kickboxing refers to the art of using Karate style kicks and Boxing style punches to defeat an opponent in a similar way to that of standard boxing. Kickboxing is a standing sport and does not allow continuation of the fight once a combatant has reached the ground.

Our kickboxing system is modeled after the Joe Lewis Fighting Systems. We require our students to use the following safety equipment when sparring: mouth-guard, 16oz. kickboxing gloves, groin-guard, shin-pads, kick-boots, and head gear.

Jiu-Jitsu practiced in our PACT system is primarily focused on the self-defense aspects of Jiu-Jitsu. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It promotes the principle that smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant using leverage and proper technique; applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat them. Some sportive aspects of Jiu-Jitsu will be explored during this class, but the primary focus will be street self-defense.

Self Defense

Self Defense is the act of defending oneself, one's property or the well-being of another from physical harm. While the term may define any form of personal defense, it is strongly associated with civilian hand-to-hand defense techniques.

Our self defense program (a.k.a. QUIET) has embraced techniques and theories ranging from Kenpo Karate, Israeli Haganah, to various styles of Jiu-Jitsu.

Weapons training practiced in our PACT system is a Filipino Martial Art called "Escrima" which emphasizes stick(sword) and knife fighting. Other terms which have entered into common usage include "Kali" and "Arnis de Máno" ("harness of the hand"); occasionally the abbreviation "FMA" ("Filipino Martial Arts") is used.
